New Year Celebration in Charming Gandia

New Year in Gandia was magical with great food and fun traditions! Exciting adventures lie ahead!

Happy New Year, everyone!

We kicked off this year in the vibrant city of Gandia, and what a celebration it was! Surrounded by good friends, we indulged in a fantastic dinner crafted by our wonderful Indonesian counterparts. The food was delightful, but it was the lively conversations that truly made the evening special.

After dinner, we strolled to the heart of the city, making our way to the town hall, where we eagerly awaited the fireworks. While the display was modest compared to the dazzling shows we’re used to in the Netherlands, it added a charming local touch to our festivities. It seems that in Spain, the grand fireworks of New Year's Eve might just be a rarity!

As the countdown began, we took part in the thrilling tradition of the 12 grapes challenge. Picture this: in the last 12 seconds of the year, you hastily munch on 12 grapes—one for each chime of the clock! It’s exhilarating but definitely has its risks; choking is a real concern! Thankfully, with specially packaged seedless and skinless grapes available, we managed to dodge any mishaps.

Our night out was brief, though. Our little one had been on the go and by the time we headed home, he was fast asleep in the car, leaving us with some quiet moments to reflect on the evening.

Looking forward, this year holds a world of possibilities! We can’t wait to greet new guests at our BnB, explore new destinations, and tackle the ongoing projects around our home. It's shaping up to be an exciting journey—one that feels like an ever-evolving story!

Catch you all in the next post!

Hasta luego, mis amigos!
