Alicante is an absolutely gorgeous city that you won't want to miss. Even if you're just passing through on your way to Europe, the airport here has plenty of connections you can take advantage of.
To get a feel for the city's best sights, I recommend hopping on the tourist bus. This'll take you up to the castle, and once you're there, you can walk down and explore the charming "Barri Vell - Santa Creu" neighborhood. The winding streets are lined with some of the most beautiful houses you'll ever see, and don't forget to check out the post covers while you're there!
When you're ready for some R&R, head back to the beach and take a leisurely stroll along the boulevard Passeig de l’Esplanada. Grab a tasty snack or ice cream from one of the local vendors and enjoy the view.
Finally, meander back through the alleyways to your starting point and just soak up the atmosphere. Trust me, you'll have a wonderful time in Alicante!
